My 2-year-old niece can’t say Aunty Sam. She calls me A’ Sa’ which sounds a lot like A**hole. I’m confident she doesn’t realise this. I love hearing “A’ Sa’ HOLD MY HAND!!” as we take a turn around the garden.

Holly Tucker MBE, founder of notonthehighstreet, and one of my personal heroes continues to champion shopping independent this month by launching “Shop Independent – Summer 2021”.  With the ethos that shopping small isn’t just for Christmas, or in a pandemic! Friday 25th June is Shop Independent Day where she’s encouraging everyone to spend £1 with small businesses.  If we all spent £1 per day on shopping local and shopping small, that adds up to £12 billion a year.  Jeff Bezos has enough cash.  Vote with your money.

Ramadan Kareem to all my Muslim friends.  There are a few things I really miss about living in Dubai and being there during Ramadan is one of them.  I don’t fast.  Instead, I was in the office cupboard with all the other non-Muslims, drinking forbidden coffee, standing elbow to elbow.  Guaranteed that someone else in the cupboard was microwaving a curry.  It’s a great way to get to know your colleagues!
